SideStore Tips & Advanced Features

Once you've installed SideStore with iLoader, there's a lot more you can do than just install a few apps. This guide covers SideStore tips, app sources, refresh strategies, and advanced features so you can get the most out of sideloading.

Use Trusted App Sources

SideStore lets you add app sources—URLs that host curated app lists. For safety:

• Prefer sources recommended by the SideStore community or official documentation.
• Avoid random "all-in-one" sources that bundle tweaked apps from unknown authors.
• Review app descriptions and permissions before installing.

Plan Your Refresh Schedule

With a free Apple Developer account, sideloaded apps typically expire after about 7 days. SideStore can refresh apps, but you'll have a smoother experience if you plan ahead:

• Pick a weekly "maintenance" day to open SideStore and refresh everything.
• Keep an eye on critical apps (for example, emulators) and refresh them before trips or events.

Use LiveContainer + SideStore (Advanced)

LiveContainer can be used together with SideStore to isolate certain apps. In some setups, iLoader and SideStore can help place pairing files and sign LiveContainer builds:

• Keep apps that handle sensitive work accounts separate from personal apps.
• Test experimental builds in a container so they don't touch your main data.
• Read SideStore's documentation for the current LiveContainer support status and limitations.

Organize Your Sideloaded Apps

A few small habits can keep things tidy:

• Group sideloaded apps into a folder on your Home Screen.
• Keep notes (for example, in your password manager) of which Apple ID and certificate each device uses.
• Uninstall apps you no longer use to stay under Apple's app and certificate limits.

Monitor Certificates and Devices with iLoader

iLoader makes it easier to see what's happening behind the scenes:

• Check which certificates are active and revoke old ones before you hit Apple's 3‑certificate limit.
• Verify that pairing files are in the right place for each device.
• Use logs and error messages (especially in v2.x) to diagnose problems quickly.
