Prerequisites
- Windows 10 (version 1903 or later) or Windows 11
- iTunes - Download and install from Apple's website (required for usbmuxd support)
- Administrator privileges - Required for installation
- USB cable - Compatible with your iOS device
- Internet connection - For downloading and initial setup
Step-by-Step Installation
- Install iTunes:
- Download iTunes from apple.com/itunes
- Run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions
- Restart your computer if prompted
- Verify installation by opening iTunes at least once
- Download iLoader:
- Download the Windows MSI installer:
iloader-windows-x64.msi(recommended) - Or download the portable executable:
iloader-windows-x64.exe - Save the installer to your Downloads folder or desktop
- Download the Windows MSI installer:
- Install iLoader:
- Right-click the downloaded installer and select "Run as administrator"
- If Windows Defender SmartScreen appears, click "More info" then "Run anyway"
- Follow the installation wizard
- Choose installation location (default is recommended)
- Click "Install" and wait for completion
- Launch iLoader:
- Find iLoader in your Start menu or desktop shortcut
- Run iLoader (you may need to allow it through Windows Firewall)
- Connect Your Device:
- Connect your iOS device to your computer via USB
- If prompted on your device, tap "Trust This Computer"
- Enter your device passcode if requested
- Ensure your device is unlocked
- Sign In and Install:
- Sign in with your Apple ID in iLoader
- Select your connected device
- Choose "Install SideStore" and follow the prompts
Windows-Specific Troubleshooting
- Device not detected: Ensure iTunes is installed and running. Try a different USB port or cable.
- Windows Defender blocking: Add iLoader to Windows Defender exclusions or disable real-time protection temporarily during installation.
- Driver issues: If your device isn't recognized, install Apple Mobile Device Support (included with iTunes) or update iTunes.
- Permission errors: Always run iLoader as administrator if you encounter permission issues.
