Modified YouTube apps (often called YouTube++, uYou+, or similar) add features like ad blocking, background play, and more. You can sideload them on your iPhone or iPad with iLoader and SideStore—no jailbreak required.
What You Need
- iPhone or iPad on a supported iOS version (iOS 15–18).
- Free Apple Developer account (see Free Apple Developer Account).
- iLoader on your Windows, Mac, or Linux PC.
- USB cable. On iOS 16+, Developer Mode enabled.
- The IPA file of the YouTube-based app (e.g. uYou+ from its official or trusted source).
Step 1: Install SideStore (If You Haven’t Already)
SideStore is the app that will hold and refresh your sideloaded apps. To install it:
- Connect your device to your computer with USB.
- Open iLoader and sign in with your Apple ID.
- Select your device and choose Install SideStore.
- Follow the prompts; iLoader handles certificates and pairing.

Step 2: Get the YouTube IPA
Projects like uYou+ provide IPA builds for sideloading. Always:
- Download from the project’s official repo or a trusted source (see Best IPA Sources 2026).
- Use the correct IPA for your device (e.g. arm64 for iPhone).
We don’t host or link to specific IPAs; use the official uYou+ or similar project pages.
Step 3: Sideload the IPA with iLoader
- Connect your iPhone/iPad via USB and open iLoader.
- Ensure your device is detected and you’re signed in.
- Use iLoader’s Install IPA / Sideload IPA option.
- Select the YouTube/uYou+ .ipa file.
- Wait for the installation to complete. The app will appear on your home screen.
If prompted, trust the developer in Settings → General → VPN & Device Management.
Step 4: Keep It Refreshed
With a free Apple ID, the app will expire after about 7 days. Use SideStore to refresh it over Wi‑Fi or USB so you don’t have to reinstall every week. See Refresh SideStore Apps.
Tips
- You have a limited number of app slots (see Apple’s 3 App Limit); plan which apps you keep installed.
- Modified YouTube apps can break after official YouTube updates; check the project for updated IPAs.
