"Tweaked" or modified apps (like YouTube++, Instagram++, and similar) are IPA files that add extra features to popular apps. You can sideload them on your iPhone or iPad using iLoader and SideStore—no jailbreak required.
What You Need
- iPhone or iPad with a supported iOS version (iOS 15–18).
- Free Apple Developer account (see Free Apple Developer Account).
- iLoader on your Windows, Mac, or Linux PC.
- USB cable. On iOS 16+, Developer Mode enabled.
- The IPA file of the tweaked app (from a source you trust).
Step 1: Install SideStore (If You Haven't Already)
SideStore is the app on your iPhone that holds and refreshes sideloaded apps. To install it:
- Connect your device to your computer with USB.
- Open iLoader and sign in with your Apple ID.
- Select your device and choose Install SideStore.
- Follow the prompts; iLoader handles certificates and pairing.
Full steps: Getting Started (5 steps).
Step 2: Get the Tweaked App IPA
Tweaked IPAs are distributed by third-party communities, not the App Store. Always:
- Download only from sources you trust (well-known repos or project pages).
- Be aware that modified apps can break when the original app updates; you may need to wait for an updated IPA.
- Respect copyright and the app's terms of use. See iOS Sideloading Security & Safety for best practices.
We don't host or link to specific tweaked IPAs; use your preferred community or repo.
Step 3: Sideload the IPA with iLoader
- Connect your iPhone/iPad via USB and open iLoader.
- Ensure your device is detected and you're signed in.
- Use iLoader's Install IPA / Sideload IPA option.
- Choose the .ipa file you downloaded.
- Wait for the installation to finish. The app will appear on your home screen.

Step 4: Trust the Developer & Open the App
First time you open a sideloaded app:
- If iOS says "Untrusted Developer," go to Settings → General → VPN & Device Management.
- Tap the developer profile and choose Trust.
- Open the app again.
Keeping Tweaked Apps Working (Refresh)
With a free Apple Developer account, sideloaded apps expire after about 7 days. To keep them working:
- Open SideStore on your device periodically (e.g. once a week) so it can refresh your apps.
- Or reinstall the IPA with iLoader when it expires.
See Refresh SideStore Apps for more.
Popular Types of Tweaked Apps
Common categories people sideload include:
- YouTube-style apps — Ad-free viewing, background play, or other enhancements.
- Social app tweaks — Modified versions of social apps with extra options.
- Utilities & emulators — See How to Sideload Emulators on iOS.
Always get IPAs from reputable sources and understand that tweaked apps can have stability or security trade-offs.
