This guide walks through installing SideStore from a Mac using iLoader. macOS includes the USB services SideStore needs, so you do not need iTunes like on Windows.
What You Need
- Mac running a recent macOS version supported by iLoader
- iPhone or iPad on a supported iOS version
- USB cable that supports data (not charge-only)
- Apple ID with two-factor authentication (a free developer account is enough)
Step 1: Download iLoader for Mac
- Open the iLoader download page and get the latest macOS build.
- If macOS blocks the app the first time, open System Settings → Privacy & Security and allow iLoader to run.
Step 2: Connect Your iPhone
- Unlock the iPhone and connect it with USB.
- When prompted, tap Trust This Computer and enter your passcode.
- In iLoader, confirm your device appears in the device list.
If the device does not show up, unlock the phone, try another data cable or USB port, and see Device not detected in Troubleshooting.
Step 3: Enable Developer Mode (iOS 16+)
On iOS 16 and later, Developer Mode is required for sideloading. Follow Enable Developer Mode iOS and restart if prompted.
Step 4: Sign In and Install SideStore
- In iLoader, sign in with the Apple ID you use for sideloading.
- Use iLoader’s flow to install the SideStore IPA onto your device.
- On the device, if you see an Untrusted Developer message, trust the developer in Settings → General → VPN & Device Management (see Trust a sideloaded app).
After Installation
- Open SideStore and complete its setup (pairing file, anisette if needed).
- Read Pairing files with SideStore and Anisette servers explained.
- Plan weekly refreshes so apps stay signed.
On Windows instead? Use Install SideStore (Windows PC).
