If iTunes does not list your iPhone and iLoader shows no device, the problem is almost always USB, drivers, or Trust This Computer. SideStore installation cannot proceed until Windows recognizes the phone.

1. Use Apple’s iTunes (desktop installer)

Install iTunes from apple.com/itunes, not only the Microsoft Store stub. The classic installer bundles Apple Mobile Device Support, which Windows needs for USB communication.

After installing, restart Windows once before retesting.

2. Cable and USB port

  • Use a cable that supports data (many charge-only cables look identical).
  • Plug directly into the PC or a powered hub—not a flaky keyboard passthrough.
  • Try a different USB port (USB-A on the motherboard often behaves better than front-panel ports).

3. Unlock and trust

  1. Unlock the iPhone and leave it on the Home Screen.
  2. Unplug and replug the cable.
  3. If prompted, tap Trust This Computer and enter your passcode.

4. Apple Mobile Device Service

On Windows, open Services (services.msc), find Apple Mobile Device Service, and ensure it is Running. If it is stopped, start it and set Startup type to Automatic.

5. Reinstall or repair iTunes

If the device still never appears, uninstall iTunes and Apple Mobile Device Support from Apps & Features, reboot, then reinstall iTunes from Apple’s site again.

Then use iLoader

Once iTunes can see the iPhone, iLoader should too. Continue with Install SideStore (Windows PC) and download the latest iLoader.
