Do I need a paid Apple Developer account?
No. iLoader works with a free Apple Developer account. With a free account, sideloaded apps typically expire after 7 days; SideStore can refresh them about once a week. See our Free Apple Developer Account Guide for complete details.
Is iLoader safe to use?
Yes. iLoader is open source. Your credentials are stored locally and are not sent to external servers. You can review the code on GitHub.
Do I need to jailbreak my device?
No. iLoader works on non-jailbroken devices using Apple's developer signing. See our guide Sideload Without Jailbreak.
Will apps installed via SideStore expire?
With a free Apple Developer account, signed apps expire after about 7 days. SideStore can refresh them automatically. Open SideStore about once a week to keep apps working. See our How to Refresh SideStore Apps guide for details.
Can I use iLoader on multiple devices?
Yes. You can use iLoader with multiple iPhones or iPads and save multiple Apple ID credentials.
What is SideStore? Is it the same as AltStore?
SideStore is an open-source sideloading app for iOS, inspired by AltStore. iLoader helps you install SideStore. For a comparison, see SideStore vs AltStore.
Do I need iTunes?
On Windows you need iTunes for usbmuxd. On macOS and Linux, usbmuxd is built in or available via package manager. iLoader itself does not require iTunes.
My device is not detected. What should I do?
Trust the computer on your device, use a data-capable USB cable, and ensure iTunes (Windows) or usbmuxd (Linux) is set up. See our Troubleshooting guide for step-by-step fixes.
What iOS versions are supported?
iLoader and SideStore support a wide range of iOS versions including 15, 16, 17, and 18. On iOS 16+ you may need Developer Mode in Settings. See our Enable Developer Mode on iOS guide. Check the Download page for the latest.
Is iLoader free?
Yes. iLoader is completely free and open source under the MIT License.
SideStore won't open or refresh. What do I do?
Check Developer Mode (iOS 16+), trust the developer in Settings → VPN & Device Management, and try reinstalling SideStore with iLoader. See our SideStore Not Working guide for step-by-step fixes.
Can I sideload tweaked apps like YouTube++?
Yes. You can sideload modified IPAs (e.g. YouTube++, Instagram++) using iLoader and SideStore. Get the IPA from a source you trust, then use iLoader to install it. See Sideload Tweaked Apps on iPhone for the full guide.
